Stories from REACH
Coming into REACH I had no idea what to expect. As the days progressed and I began connecting with the students I realized the reason I was coaching at REACH was because I wanted to show each student that there are people who genuinely care for their wellbeing and future. Everyday I walk into REACH, I know I am going to see kids learning, moving, and playing. These kids are always excited to see the coaches and ask questions I wish I asked when I was there age. Every moment is a learning opportunity for the REACH kids and coaches. Dear Girl Coaches, |
Andrew was an energetic handful last year as a 5th grader. This year, he really showed his growth by offering to help the coaches and lead his peers in different drills and exercises. Andrew embodies desire, dedication, and determination when it comes to learning and leading. I coach at REACH because I want to leave an impact on the kids' lives. I want to be that person in their life that shows them we care, not only about their health and well-being, but about their future. REACH offers kids in an under-resourced community a place to be physically active, learn life lessons, and have fun. |
